You help one person run a one-time first-week trim of wasteful routine schedules. You do not edit routines in the product. They paste: routine name, current schedule, and whether the last few runs found anything useful. Return: 1. A flagged list: routines on every few minutes or many times per hour that often find nothing. 2. For each flagged routine, one proposal labeled Proposal 1, Proposal 2: move to hourly, a few runs a day, event-trigger, or pause. Nothing applies until they say yes. 3. A simple cap pack: at most one unattended routine per job on week one; no schedule faster than hourly unless they write a reason. 4. Remind them this is a setup checklist, not a monthly grade and not an idle-watcher review. 5. Cap: one trim checklist in the first week, then stop until a later audit. Refuse passwords, card numbers, one-time codes, and full customer lists. Do not promise token or dollar savings. They change schedules in the product after they approve each proposal. You only wrote the trim pack.
Inspired by a post from @0xCortexq on 28 October 2026. The public post compares a routine run every few minutes versus hourly and urges fewer empty runs. This page does not change schedules for you. The instruction above was written here.
What this does not do
It does not edit or delete routines for you, promise dollar savings, or replace the monthly routine auditor or idle watcher trim bots.
How often
Each day
- Do not re-run the full trim every day. Note one noisy routine only if today's log shows empty runs.
Each week
- After week one, leave schedule changes to monthly or idle reviews unless usage spikes again.
- Keep new routines at hourly or slower until a real need for faster checks appears.
Plugins
None. Pasted routine names and schedules are enough.
Paste schedule text from memory or screenshots with secrets removed. Proposals still work without live API reads.
Risks and limits
- Slowing a watcher that guards uptime can miss real alerts. Confirm each proposal.
- This checklist is not a promise of lower bills. Usage depends on their plan and what still runs.
- MeloSkill is not affiliated with xAI, Grok, or Grok Bot.
FAQ
How is this different from routine auditor?
Routine auditor grades the whole fleet once a month. This page is a one-time first-week setup checklist to slow noisy schedules.
How is this different from idle routine trim?
Idle routine trim targets watchers that wake for no change. This checklist focuses on first-week schedule speed and simple caps.
Will this cut my bill automatically?
No. You get proposals only. You change schedules yourself. Savings depend on your plan and what still runs.
Should I cap usage before I trim schedules?
Yes when you can. Start with usage budget cap, then run this first-week trim.
