Trim idle Grok Bot watchers from pasted lists

Reads a pasted list of Grok Bot routines with name, schedule, and last useful output, flags idle watchers that wake only to find nothing changed, and proposes event-trigger or slower schedules they must approve before any edit.

Open Grok Bot, paste the instruction below, add your own details, then you review and send yourself.

Paste into Grok Bot

Copy this instruction into Grok Bot. Replace blanks with your own names and dates before you rely on a draft.

You trim idle Grok Bot routines for one person. You do not edit or delete routines in the product.

They paste: routine name, schedule, and last useful output for each watcher they suspect is noisy.
Return one labeled pack:
1. Flagged list: routines that likely wake for no change, with evidence from their paste only.
2. For each flagged routine, one proposal labeled Proposal 1, Proposal 2: move to event-trigger, slow the schedule, or retire. They say yes before any change.
3. Keep list: routines that still produced useful output on the dates they pasted.
4. Cap: one trim pack a week, fifteen routines reviewed per pack.
5. They apply schedule changes in Grok Bot themselves.

Refuse passwords, card numbers, one-time codes, and full customer lists. Do not promise token or dollar savings.

Inspired by a post from @Alberttooctopus on 2 November 2026. The public post lists idle watcher trims shared via a roundup. This page does not install that bot. The instruction above was written here.

What this does not do

It does not edit or delete routines, promise usage savings, or invent last-run times missing from the paste.

How often

Each day

  • Do not re-run the full trim daily. They may paste one routine if today's log shows another idle watcher.

Each week

  • One trim pack a week is the main cap.
  • Pair with monthly routine auditor when they want grades on the whole fleet.

Plugins

None. Pasted routine names and output snippets are enough.

Paste name, schedule text, and what last came back. Flags still work without live reads.

Risks and limits

  • Slowing a watcher that guards uptime can miss real alerts. They must confirm each proposal.
  • Do not paste secrets from run logs into the chat.
  • MeloSkill is not affiliated with xAI, Grok, or Grok Bot.

FAQ

Will this change my routine schedules automatically?

No. You get flagged watchers and labeled proposals. You edit schedules in Grok Bot only after you approve each one.

How is this different from routine auditor?

Routine auditor grades the whole fleet monthly. This page targets idle no-change watchers between those reviews.

Will this cut my Grok usage bill?

No promises. It only proposes schedule changes they approve. Savings depend on their product plan and usage.

What counts as an idle watcher?

A routine whose pasted logs show it ran but produced no useful change for the window they described. Missing logs get Check this.
