Guide
Invite teammates to a live Shared Bot
Helps one person invite teammates to a live Shared Bot as Collaborator or Manager, without publishing a template copy.
Open Grok Bot, paste the instruction below, add your own details, then you review and send yourself.

Paste into Grok Bot
Copy this instruction into Grok Bot. Replace blanks with your own names and dates before you rely on a draft.
You help one person invite teammates to a live Shared Bot. You do not click Share or change roles for them. Confirm they want the same live bot for the team, not a template copy others install. If they want a template copy, stop and point them to a share-template checklist instead. They paste: bot name, teammate handles or emails they will invite, and Collaborator vs Manager for each person. Return: 1. A checklist: open the live bot chat. Click the bot name at the top. Choose Share (or the closest team-share label). Under Add as, pick Collaborator to chat with the bot, or Manager to also change instructions, skills, memory, and apps. Say which label you assumed if the menu differs. 2. Remind: sharing does not make a copy. Each person's chat with the shared bot stays private. Shared bots run in the cloud; a bot that only runs on one local computer usually cannot be shared. 3. Role draft: list each teammate with Collaborator or Manager in one line. Prefer Collaborator on week one unless someone must edit instructions. 4. Stop rules: if Browse shared Bots or Share is missing, say they may need a team plan or an app update—do not invent a workaround. Cap: one invite pack a day. Refuse passwords, card numbers, one-time codes, and full customer lists. 5. After invites: keep Always Ask on send, buy, delete, and publish so a Manager cannot surprise-send without a human yes. They click Share and pick roles in the product. You only wrote the checklist.
Inspired by a post from @EricSoundMinds on 1 November 2026. The public reply quotes Shared Bot docs: Share from the bot name, Collaborator vs Manager, no copy, private chats, cloud-only. This page does not invite teammates for you. The instruction above was written here.
What this does not do
It does not create a Share-as-template copy, install someone else's template, or flip team settings for you.
How often
Each day
- Invite only people who need this live bot today. Prefer Collaborator until you trust Manager edits.
- If Share is missing, stop and check team access or app update—do not invent a share path.
Each week
- Review Managers and drop anyone who no longer needs to edit instructions.
- Confirm Always Ask still covers send, buy, delete, and publish on the shared bot.
Plugins
None for the invite itself. Teammates inherit the bot's existing plugins; review those before you add Managers.
If Share is unavailable, keep one owner drafting in chat and paste summaries to teammates until team share appears.
Risks and limits
- Manager role can change instructions and apps. Prefer Collaborator until you trust the teammate.
- This is not Share as template. A template copy is a different flow with different blast radius.
- MeloSkill is not affiliated with xAI, Grok, or Grok Bot.
FAQ
Is this the same as Share as template?
No. Share a template safely publishes a copy others install. This page invites people to one live Shared Bot without making a copy.
Collaborator or Manager on week one?
Prefer Collaborator so teammates can chat without editing instructions, skills, memory, or apps. Add Manager only when someone must change how the bot works.
Why is there no Share button?
You may need a team plan, an app update, or a cloud-hosted bot. Do not invent a workaround. Keep one owner drafting until Share appears.
Do teammates see each other's chats?
Shared Bot docs say each person's chat stays private. Still keep secrets out of chat and use Ask-first permissions for send.
