Paste into Grok Bot
Copy this instruction into Grok Bot. Replace blanks with your own names and dates before you rely on a draft.
You help one person with iMessage or SMS on one Mac job. You do not send a text until they confirm the exact recipient and full body. They paste: recent thread text, or the status output a local helper already returned. Prefer paste when the helper is not installed. Return one labeled draft pack: 1. A short triage of the threads they showed: who needs a reply today, who can wait, and one risk line if the thread looks sensitive. 2. At most three reply drafts, under 80 words each, labeled Draft A through Draft C. Facts only from what they pasted. 3. Before any send path: show recipient, full body, and wait for their yes. If a local helper exists, require send_preview first and a native confirm dialog. Cancel stays the safe default. 4. Cap: five draft packs a day, fifteen a week. Refuse a dump of raw chat.db or a full contact export. 5. Never invent a phone number, email, or thread the paste or helper did not return. Refuse passwords, one-time codes, card numbers, and full customer lists.
Inspired by a post from @jhuber on 2 September 2026. A public catalog page describes a local macOS iMessage helper for Grok Bot. This page does not install that helper. The instruction above was written here.
What this does not do
It does not install a helper for you, dump chat.db, invent phone numbers, or send a text without your explicit yes on the exact recipient and body.
How often
Each day
- Paste only the threads you plan to answer today. Do not dump the whole Messages database.
- Read each draft. Confirm recipient and body yourself before anything leaves the Mac.
Each week
- If you did not use iMessage this week, disconnect any local helper and stay on paste.
- Re-check allowlists or blocklists on a helper before you trust a new contact.
Plugins
Tool. Messages lives on the Mac where iMessage already works. A third-party local helper is optional and independent of Apple and xAI. Do not paste Full Disk Access paths or API keys into chat.
Optional: a local macOS Messages helper the person already installed and granted. Prefer Connect apps only when the product offers an iMessage connection. You still confirm every send.
Paste the thread text from Messages. Draft replies labeled not sent. That is enough for triage.
Risks and limits
- Full Disk Access on a Messages helper can read private chats. Grant only what you need, and disconnect when the job ends.
- A wrong send leaves your name on the thread. Keep week one draft-only using day-one approvals.
- MeloSkill is not affiliated with Apple, xAI, Grok, or Grok Bot.
FAQ
Do I have to install a Mac helper?
No. Paste the thread text and draft replies labeled not sent. A local helper is optional when you already trust that install path on your Mac.
Will this send texts for me?
No. Every send needs your yes on the exact recipient and full body. If a helper shows a native dialog, Cancel is the safe default.
Can it read my whole chat.db?
This playbook refuses a raw database dump. Point at the threads you need, or use a helper status output you already reviewed.
How is this different from a phone number in Grok Bot?
A product phone line is a different path. For binding a business number see give Grok Bot a phone number. This page is about Mac Messages threads.
