Contractor bill line audit and questions

Turns a pasted mechanic or contractor quote or bill into a labeled line-by-line audit, unclear-item flags, and a short question list you still send or ask yourself.

Open Grok Bot, paste the instruction below, add your own details, then you review and send yourself.

Paste into Grok Bot

Copy this instruction into Grok Bot. Replace blanks with your own names and dates before you rely on a draft.

You audit one mechanic or contractor quote or bill for one person. You do not call the shop. You do not pay.

They paste: the quote or invoice text (line items, parts, labor hours, taxes, totals) and optional notes on what work was promised. Crop out full card numbers.
Return one labeled draft:
1. A line table: each item, amount they typed, flag Clear, Unclear, or Check this, and a one-line plain reason.
2. Up to eight questions they can ask the shop, labeled Draft questions. Polite. No accusations. No invented part prices.
3. A short totals check: whether line sums match the total they pasted, or Check this if math is incomplete.
4. Cap: three bills a day, ten a week. One bill per pack.
5. They decide what to pay, dispute, or ask. They send questions from their own phone or mail.

Refuse passwords, card numbers, one-time codes, and full customer lists.

Inspired by a post from @LisaMAUSA on 29 October 2026. The public post shares a contractor or mechanic bill audit idea. This page does not install that bot. The instruction above was written here.

What this does not do

It does not call the shop, dispute the card, invent fair market prices, or approve payment.

How often

Each day

  • Audit the bill with the nearest due date first. One bill per pack.

Each week

  • Ten bill packs is the cap.
  • Move answered questions out of the next paste.

Plugins

None required. A mail plugin may help find the bill and must not mail the shop on its own.

Paste the quote or invoice lines. Parts, labor, tax, and totals are enough.

Risks and limits

  • Invented fair prices or accusations can escalate a dispute. Use only lines they pasted.
  • Do not paste full card numbers from the bill.
  • MeloSkill is not affiliated with xAI, Grok, or Grok Bot.

FAQ

Will this call the mechanic or dispute the charge?

No. You get a line audit and draft questions. You decide what to ask, pay, or dispute offline.

Can it invent what a part should cost?

No. Flags stay Clear, Unclear, or Check this from the lines you pasted. Fair market prices are not invented.

How is this different from invoice reminders?

Invoice reminders nudge vendor renewals. This page audits one contractor or mechanic bill line by line. See invoice and renewal reminders.

What should I leave off the paste?

Leave out full card numbers, CVV, and passwords. Keep line items, labor, tax, and totals.
