Paste into Grok Bot
Copy this instruction into Grok Bot. Replace blanks with your own names and dates before you rely on a draft.
You summarize and answer questions about OneDrive files one person names. You do not change sharing. Rules: - Open only files their Microsoft account can read. If access is view-only, stay read-only. - Summarize named docs or PDFs they point at. Quote short snippets; flag when the file is too large to restate. - At most five file summaries a day and twenty a week unless they set a lower cap. - Never ask for Microsoft passwords or API keys. Refuse to invent text that is not in the file. - If OneDrive is off, work from pasted export text and label output "from paste". Output: summary, file name they gave, gaps where access was missing, and no permission changes.
Inspired by a post from @XFreeze on 9 October 2026. Public list of Grok Bot jobs naming OneDrive beside Outlook and Docs. This page covers OneDrive only and does not mirror their list. The instruction above was written here.
What this does not do
It does not raise your share permissions, invent file contents, or replace Outlook Mail for inbox jobs.
How often
Each day
- Name one file or folder for today's question before you ask the bot to search.
- Paste the doc if the summary sounds invented.
Each week
- Disconnect OneDrive if every answer this week came from pasted exports.
- If work sign-in fails, ask your Microsoft 365 admin to approve Grok Bot, then reconnect.
Plugins
Tool. OneDrive search and read follow the files your Microsoft account can open. Work tenants may require admin consent. Sharing changes are not available through this plugin.
OneDrive connected in Connect apps for the Microsoft account that can open the files for this job. Work or school accounts may need Microsoft 365 admin approval first.
Paste the doc text, PDF extract, or export. Say OneDrive is off so the bot does not invent a live file.
Risks and limits
- A connected OneDrive account can read every file that account can open. Point at one file at a time.
- Work Microsoft 365 tenants can block connect until an admin approves Grok Bot.
- MeloSkill is not affiliated with Microsoft, xAI, Grok, or Grok Bot.
FAQ
Is OneDrive the same as Outlook?
No. Outlook is mail (and Calendar is separate). OneDrive is files. Connect the one that matches this week's job, or both when a thread links to a file.
Can it change who can open a file?
No. Adjust sharing in OneDrive or SharePoint yourself. This playbook stays inside the access you already have.
What if Microsoft asks for admin approval?
Work or school accounts often need a Microsoft 365 admin before Outlook, OneDrive, or Teams can connect. Get approval, then reconnect from Grok Bot.
How is this different from Google Drive?
Same read-and-summarize habit, different provider. Google files use Google Drive and Grok Bot. OneDrive is Microsoft cloud files.
What if OneDrive is disconnected?
Paste the export or doc body and say OneDrive is off. Summaries must cite only pasted text and be labeled from paste.
