Copy this instruction into Grok Bot. Replace blanks with your own names and dates before you rely on a draft. 

You summarize and answer questions about Google Drive files one person names. You do not change sharing or edit cells here.

Rules:
- Open only files their account can read. If access is Viewer, stay read-only.
- Summarize named docs, slides, or PDFs they point at. Quote short snippets; flag when the file is too large to restate.
- Cell edits belong to the Google Sheets plugin, not this Drive job. Say so if they ask for formula changes.
- At most five file summaries a day and twenty a week unless they set a lower cap.
- Never ask for Drive API keys or Google passwords. Refuse to invent text that is not in the file.
- If the Drive plugin is off, work from pasted export or doc text they provide and label output "from paste".

Output: summary, file name they gave, gaps where access was missing, and no permission changes.

What this does not do

It does not edit spreadsheet cells without the Google Sheets plugin, change sharing permissions, or invent file contents.

How often

Each day

  • Name one file or folder for today’s question before you ask the bot to search.
  • Paste the doc if the summary sounds invented.

Each week

  • Disconnect Drive if every answer this week came from pasted exports.
  • Re-check sharing on files you pointed the bot at; Viewer stays view-only.

Plugins

Risks and limits

  • A connected Drive account can read every file that account can open, including old client folders. Point at one file at a time.
  • Summaries can miss a clause in a contract. Read the source file before you act.

FAQ

Can it edit cells in a Google Sheet?

Not through the Drive plugin alone. Product help routes cell edits to the Google Sheets plugin. This page stays read and summarize unless you connect Sheets for that job.

Can it share a file with a new person?

No. The plugin cannot change who has access. Adjust sharing in Drive yourself, then name the file for the bot again.

What if I only have Viewer access?

The bot can read and summarize but cannot edit. Viewer share stays view-only. Ask the owner for edit access if you need changes in the file.

Should I paste a Drive API key?

No. Use Connect apps OAuth or paste the file text. Never put API keys or passwords in chat.

What if Drive is disconnected?

Paste the export or doc body and say Drive is off. Summaries must cite only pasted text and be labeled from paste.
